Commander Ronnie Stevens of New Orleans District 6 precinct met with AFYI to discuss and learn how the national registry can help the Autism Community as well as the officers serving New Orleans. He was so responsive he connected us with the NOPD’s community outreach officer, Lt. Jonette Williams. She met Michelle Reedy and myself at our hotel and shared with us their current training about Autism and IDD. We shared what AFYI National Registry does to assist First Responders by allowing immediate recognition of its members as well as support for Police, Fire and EMS, and members by providing immediate access to emergency contacts, demographic, personal helpful tips, and medical information via our 24 hour hotline. We appreciate their responsiveness to such a spur of the moment meeting and their commitment to the safety of its community and tourists. We look forward to helping them in any way we can.
