Monday June 6,2016 Autism FYI Org met with Fairfax County Police Chief, Col.Edwin Roessler, Jr. and staff to present the National Registry and how it benefits both those on the Autism Spectrum and the Officers and First Responders that protect them. After seeing the products that are offered to registrants and the training and decals for First Responders, the team of Officers was anxious to get the program into Northern Virginia. Moving forward Michelle Reedy, Ret. Sgt. Prince George’s County Police Department and volunteer for AFYI, will work with Fairfax PD to augment their current training program with the services of AFYI National Registry. They will also notify their Fire&EMS teams and School Resource Officers, and Communications Branch. We are grateful for their acceptance and cooperation in making the Autism community safe.
